The dark blue represents the Adjutant General Corps with which all Army Bands are associated.  The shoulder sleeve insignia is displayed below a yellow tripartite scroll inscribed "102D ARMY BAND" in dark blue letters.  The blue, white, and red band represents the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation awarded to the unit.  The four yellow bands display the campaign credit for World War II service.  The star alludes to the home station, Hartford, "New England's rising star."
